September - October, 2004
We had some yard games at our house with our Community Group in September. And with any yard game get-together, horseshoes are always a good addition. It was Scott Moore and I versus...
Amelia Moore and Alicia (throwing the shoe). The men, of course, were the victors. Kelly, fearing the flying large metal objects, decided to be the photographer (for Olivia's sake). =)
Some FSM students were in a school production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and we went to watch. Robert, in the back left (with the makeup), is in Geo's small group this year and Leland and Bennett (on the right) were in his small group last year. All the female folk have, at some time or another, been in Kelly's small group.
Jordyn did a great job as a bride in the play. She is one of the students that Kelly really made a signifcant connection with.
Moving on to October -- this was Kelly's art room. Notice the nice white walls.
And these crazy people broke into our house and started gouping up our walls with this green stuff.
Ultimately, after they scurried off (before the police could arrive), we decided we like the color and decided to use it as Olivia's nursery. (Thanks everyone who helped!)
MMmmm, fish guts. After the "Rad Dog Road Trip" with FSM, we had 72 pounds of trout. We had gone to a trout farm with the students and they caught 2 trout each.
So, great leaders that we are, we gutted a lot of the fish for students to take home. It was actually Geo's first time to gut a fish and it was quite the experience.
Kelly and I ended up with 12 full trout to eat. Sounds like a fish fry needs to be organized.
The three of us before we head on out on a little date night. We went to dinner at Macaroni Grill...
...headed into Nashville to see some friends who just had their first child...
...and had some coffee at a great coffee house in Nashville, Fido.
This is Olivia Grace Webber at three days old. Our Olivia was already playing with their Olivia by kicking her while she was against Kelly's stomach. Either that, or she's already jealous for her mom's attention.
Another belly-status update. Kelly is at 30 weeks here (out of 40). The belly has grown quite a bit and is pooching out, as you can see. Kelly's is coming along nicely, too.
When Kelly's mom, Judy Taylor, came up to visit, she came with gifts! She gave us a painting she made and bought us our bedding set for Olivia as well. Jason Swain, my "boss" (don't tell him I called him that), let us use their bedroom set, a third of which is here.
A couple in our Community Group, Eric and Christy Charnquist, moved from an apartment to their first house (about a minute away from us). Of course they had to live in the second level apartment and have a two-story house.
All the guys standing around debating who would carry the next heavy thing down the stairs. =)
Eric brings out the last box from their box collection and takes it into their new house. Woohoo! Meanwhile, Kelly saves the day with a large bag of Subway (graciously provided by the Charnquist's). Happy new house!
That was a good post-move lunch.
The same day as the move, we had our first baby shower at Daniel and Emily Tardy's house. It was a couples shower and was absolutely amazing. They did a great job honoring us and making us feel special. Thanks, guys.
People gave us great gifts that Olivia will certainly enjoy.
This is Kelly's friend Marisa that grew up in Eugene, OR with her. Randomly, they both ended up here and have enjoyed getting to know each other better.
Geo holds up a new outfit he got to see if it is the right size. Since no gift receipt was provided, he donated it to Olivia. Kelly's facial expression is from trying to imagine him in a "onesie".
The shower ended like all good showers should, with a huge, gasoline fueled bonfire.
Happy Halloween! These are our pumpkins we carved at a party at the Moore's the night before. Geo's is on the right and Kelly's is on the left. Somehow, Geo pulled out a win as the best pumpkin of the night. (Inspired by Strong Bad)
